The State Election Commission is also making preparations at its own level to hold elections to Panchayati Raj institutions and urban bodies simultaneously. There are many legal hurdles in holding simultaneous elections, the opinion of legal experts has also been taken about it. The Panchayati Raj Department and the Autonomous Government Department have also taken opinion from the Law Department and legal experts to change the existing law.

First the districts of Gehlot Raj will be decided
Before the One State-One Election, the government will decide on the districts of Gehlot Raj. After the report of the review committee of the districts, a decision will be taken to end the small districts of Gehlot Raj. Only after this, the work on holding elections with Panchayati Raj institutions will move forward. The exact number of district councils will be decided only after the final decision on the districts of Gehlot Raj, without which the election is not possible. Law Minister Jogaram Patel said that one state-one election is possible only after the decision on districts. Without a decision on districts, there will be confusion on district councils. Without a decision on which district will remain and which will not, this work is not possible. Only after the decision on the first districts, the work of One State-One Election will be able to move forward.

Administrators will have to be appointed in 6975 panchayats in December, elections will move forward

To hold simultaneous elections, the government will have to appoint administrators in Panchayati Raj institutions and local bodies. In January, the time for elections to 6975 panchayats will come, the election to the remaining panchayats is in 2026, the elections to 6975 panchayats in the first phase will have to be moved forward to hold simultaneous elections.

The Sarpanch Sangh has demanded to adopt the Madhya Pradesh model and instead of extending the tenure of Panchayats for simultaneous elections and appointing administrators, a committee should be formed with the existing Sarpanches.
