Chittorgarh. In a major operation against illegal arms trafficking, the Gangrar police three arms smugglers arrested and seized four pistols along with magazines and four additional magazines from their possession. The arrested accused were caught transporting the weapons on a bus from Chittorgarh to Bikaner. The police have registered a case and initiated questioning of the accused. The accused claimed to have purchased the pistols from Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh for amounts ranging from 35,000 to 45,000. All the accused are members of a gang that procured weapons for their own protection and for selling elsewhere. Superintendent of Police Sudhir Joshi stated that, under the direction of ASP Sarita Singh and DSP Ganga Rar Prabhulal Kumawat, the Station Officer of Gangrar, Phoolchand, along with police personnel, was patrolling the area for operations against illegal arms traffickers. During this, police received information that some individuals were carrying weapons on a sleeper bus from Chittorgarh to Bikaner. Given the reliability of the information, they stopped the bus near the toll naka and conducted searches based on the descriptions provided by the informant. The searches revealed that the three individuals, identified as 27-year-old Gulab Singh, son of Sukhdev Singh Majbi Sikh from the Kamoke police station in Amritsar district, 20-year-old Anmol Preet Singh, son of Baljeet Singh Majbi Sikh from the Achal police station in Gurdaspur district, and 20-year-old Sahib Jangroop Singh, son of Vikramjeet Singh Majbi Sikh from the Maheta Chowk police station in Amritsar district, were found with four illegal pistols and magazines in their bags. The four illegal pistols with magazines and four additional magazines were seized and the accused were arrested. Preliminary police questioning revealed that Gulab Singh has previous cases against him for murder and assault, while Sahib Jangroop Singh has pending cases under the NDPS Act and Arms Act. During police interrogation, the accused stated they purchased the four pistols and magazines from Khandwa near Indore for their own protection and for resale. They bought one 30 bore pistol for 45,000 and three 32 bore pistols for 35,000 each, which they were carrying to their village. Investigations regarding the illegal arms trade are ongoing.
