12 kg 570 gm ganja seized in two cases, two arrested

Bhilwara. The police have achieved a major success in the campaign against drugs in the Asind area of Bhilwara district. The Asind police on Thursday seized a huge quantity of ganja from a woman and a youth in two separate cases. This action has been taken by the police to take strict steps against the illegal drug trade in the area. A total of 12 kg 570 gm ganja was recovered in the operation, out of which 1 kg 730 gm ganja was seized from a woman Sajna Devi in Asind town, while 10 kg 840 gm ganja was recovered from Barda Gurjar, a resident of Sopura village.
A case has been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act, the police officer said. Further investigation has been handed over to Shambhugarh police station to identify others involved in the case. Police suspect that both the accused might be part of a bigger gang. During the investigation, the police will also try to find out from where the ganja was brought and to whom it was being supplied.
